For more than 10 years, Concéntrico, an architecture and design festival in Logroño—a city in the Spanish region of La Rioja—has transformed the city each year into a laboratory for public space.
Every June, for six days, Logroño becomes a space for collective reflection. Temporary installations dot the city: in public squares, in the middle of roundabouts, and along the riverbanks. Visitors can explore immersive environments and participate in dinners, walks, and workshops that encourage them to reflect on social, ecological, and spatial issues through direct experience.
Through more than 150 ephemeral installations by architects, designers, and artists invited through an open call for proposals, the festival has explored the ways in which ephemeral architecture can spark lasting debates about community, sustainable development, and the future of our cities.
