Published by Jovis and available in bookstores from mid-June, the volume explores the remarkable transformation of the Huangyan stone quarries in China, a project led by Xu Tiantian and her practice, DnA Design and Architecture.Through her concept of “architectural acupuncture,” Xu Tiantian has guided the gradual reactivation of 20,000 square metres of disused industrial spaces, restoring vitality to a neglected cultural landscape. Bringing together critical and historical essays, a new interview with the architect, and extensive photographic documentation, the book traces this transformation while shedding light on the relationships between heritage, ecology, and collective forms of use.
The publication includes contributions by Wenwen Cai, Liao Kewu, Leonardo Lella, Bruno Fayolle Lussac, Philip Ursprung, and Gemma Savio, and features a foreword by Fabrizio Gallanti.
