  • Ad hoc Residences

  • with LINA European Architecture Platform

As part of the LINA network, arc en rêve is launching the ad hoc Residences programme, aimed at young professionals in architecture and related fields.

arc en rêve is a member of LINA, a European platform that connects institutions with emerging professionals in architecture and other spatial practices. As part of this network, arc en rêve is launching the ad hoc residency programme for LINA fellows. Fellows will be able to develop and pursue their projects and research in line with the centre’s programme through various formats, including exhibitions, workshops and publications.

This programme, whose first residents are Blanka Major, Nami Gradolí Giner and Giorgos Thalassinos, focuses on two themes: the current state and evolution of collective housing in Europe—exploring the interplay between policy and administrative frameworks and residents’ experiences—and an exploration of ‘culinary architecture’, which examines how shared meals shape the built environment.

LINA European Architecture Platform is a network connecting institutions with young practitioners and thinkers working at the intersection of architecture and other disciplines related to spatial culture. Its mission is to support and showcase emerging talent. LINA thus seeks to steer design and construction practices towards regenerative approaches, based on principles of degrowth, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal.
LINA’s objectives include mobilising the architecture sector towards regenerative practices, supporting the New European Bauhaus, and promoting principles of adaptive reuse, renovation and sustainability in architecture.

LINA brings together a diverse range of members—museums, universities, research networks, foundations, triennials, biennials and other European and Mediterranean organisations—who carry out a range of activities across Europe, including the LINA Architecture Programme, supported by the European Union in countries eligible for the Creative Europe programme.

Each year, a call for projects invites young practitioners to submit a project and become LINA fellows. These fellows are invited to collaborate with members of the network and participate in the LINA Architecture Programme.
