Tsai Ming-liang will present his short film The Skywalk Is Gone, a poetic reflection on urban solitude, movement, and the changing landscape of Taipei.

Bêka & Lemoine will screen selected excerpts from Homo Urbanus – A Citymatographic Odyssey, a long-term cinematic project that observes everyday life in cities around the world and explores the intricate relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.

Tsai Ming-liang is one of Taiwan's most celebrated filmmakers. Renowned for his distinctive cinematic language, his films have received major awards at international film festivals including Venice and Berlin. Throughout his career, Tsai has explored the relationships between time, the body, and urban space. The Skywalk Is Gone continues his subtle observation of Taipei's evolving cityscape, using everyday spaces to evoke the emotional and social transformations of contemporary urban life.

For nearly twenty years, Bêka & Lemoine have explored the ways people inhabit space and the relationships they develop with both private and public environments. Their films reveal how everyday gestures, routines, and bodily movements express the complex interplay of social, cultural, and political realities. By observing how people adapt to, negotiate, endure, or appropriate the spaces that shape their lives, they illuminate the silent dialogue through which people and places continuously influence one another. Over the years, they have developed a distinctive cinematic language centered on gestures, movement, and the expressive qualities of ordinary situations. Homo Urbanus – A Citymatographic Odyssey is a major chapter of this ongoing body of work, portraying cities around the world through the everyday experiences of those who inhabit them.
